The inaugural Chamber Music Today Festival is to be held at the Seoul Arts Center between December 10th and 13th 2011.
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, November 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lovers of classical music can travel to Seoul next month in order to see the inaugural edition of the Chamber Music Today Festival.
The new event will be taking place at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center between December 10th and 13th 2011 and will involve performances by some of the world's leading chamber musicians.
Proceedings will kick off on the 10th with a special invitation-only Mozart performance by the Emerson String Quartet at the Maple Hall venue, before getting underway properly at Seoul Arts Centre the following day.
The programme will feature performances of pieces by Ravel, Dvorak, Schubert, Beethoven and Mendelssohn, with cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han in charge of artistic direction.
Performers include the likes of the Jupiter String Quartet and Philip Setzer.
Commenting on the intent behind the festival, the art directors said in a statement: "It will be a delight to witness this extraordinary project blossom, as we share in the magical power of chamber music - truly the greatest music of today."
Performances begin at 20:00 local time on December 12th and 13th and at 17:00 on the 11th.
