LateRooms.com - Check Out Songs by Annika Strom in Seville
Annika Strom's textwork, songs and video diaries are currently on display at the CAAC in Seville.
SEVILLE, SPAIN, July 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seville's Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) is currently showcasing an exhibition entitled Songs by Annika Strom that combines music, text and video.
The show is on display until September 11th 2011 and includes a variety of pieces that - explicitly and implicitly in different cases - categorise her as a conceptual artist.
Many of her creations are videos using music written by Strom to reinforce the emotions on show and her songs fall somewhere between high art and mainstream pop.
Her style is minimalist with a focus on sincerity and emotional directness, which means the result can often be startling.
"In her bittersweet video-diaries she draws upon details of everyday life and seemingly insignificant experiences, usually accompanied by her own low-fi synth-pop soundtracks," explained the organisers in a statement.
Admission costs EUR1.80 (GBP1.60), or visitors can pay EUR3.01 to see both the temporary shows at the venue and the monument beside it.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 21:00 local time and Sunday between 11:00 and 15:00.
LateRooms.com offers a wide range of accommodation in Seville that may appeal to art fanatics, including the Hotel Don Paco Seville.
