LateRooms.com - Tribute to Antonim Dvorak Opens in Prague
The composer Antonim Dvorak is being honoured with a multimedia exhibition at the National Museum in Prague.
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, June 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An exhibition at Prague's National Museum is dedicated to the memory of the 19th century Czech composer Antonim Dvorak.
It has been 170 years since he was born - he passed away in 1904 - and this display aims to dig deeper into his life and work as part of the celebrations, using multimedia to engage with visitors.
The show was due to be on display until February 29th 2012, but the museum is now set to close for reconstruction work for about four years from July 7th 2011, so anyone keen to see it needs to act fast.
In a statement, the organisers noted: "It presents Dvorak as an individualistic, humble, as well as hot-tempered man, a deeply religious Catholic and, last but not least, a loving father."
Opening hours are from 10:00 to 18:00 local time, except for every first Tuesday of the month when the building is closed and the first Wednesday when it is open until 20:00.
The extensive construction work planned at the National Museum will repair several key areas, double the amount of exhibition space available and create new facilities for visitors.
It is due to reopen in June 2015.
