The indie stars are playing at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on April 28th and 29th.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, April 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hotly-tipped American indie-pop act The Drums are calling at Melbourne for two gigs at the end of this month.

The band are heading down under for a run of shows that will also see them playing the regional Groove in the Moo touring festival in Bendigo, Townsville, Maitland, Canberra and Bunbury.

They will take the stage at the Victoria capital's Corner Hotel venue on April 28th and 29th 2011.

Although they were originally only scheduled to play the latter date, huge demand for tickets led to the addition of the second show.

Fans can expect to hear material from The Drums' self-titled debut album, released last year. It includes the hit single Best Friend, as well as Let's Go Surfing, Forever and Ever, Amen and I'll Never Drop My Sword.

The band have enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence since forming back in 2008, with appearances at the famous Coachella and Lollapalooza festivals planned for this year.

Tickets for their April 29th Melbourne show have already sold out, but passes are still available for the previous night. Admission costs AU$49.50 plus booking fee.

Indie fans looking for cheap accommodation near the venue can find a wide selection of Melbourne hotels at LateRooms.com.au.
