LateRooms.com - Ether Festival Begins in London
The Ether Festival has kicked off at the Southbank Centre and will feature shows by Killing Joke and Tim Exile among others over the next month.
LONDON, ENGLAND, March 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- London's Southbank Centre is currently hosting the Ether Festival, which showcases some of the most innovative voices in the arts sphere.
Through a diverse programme featuring musicians and artists running until April 28th, the venue will explore what is happening at art's cutting edge.
Experimental shows by Killing Joke, Tim Exile, Pantha du Prince and Wolfgang Voigt are included on the bill, with the Philharmonia Orchestra due to deliver a live score to Stanley Kubrick's 2001 - A Space Odyssey.
Another anticipated highlight of the festival will be the performance of Young Xenarchitects, who play music inspired by the deceased avant-garde composer Iannis Xenakis.
The event has established itself as a major player in the arts and music world, with previous editions featuring contributions by Thom Yorke, Gil Scott-Heron, Lou Reed, Kraftwerk and Brian Eno.
But there is more to the occasion than musical performances. Among the more interactive sessions available is a jam workshop with Tim Exile.
Each event is individually priced and tickets are available online or at the box office.
The closest London underground stops to the venue are Waterloo and Embankment.
Arts enthusiasts can use LateRooms.com to browse a vast selection of London hotels, such as the Astor Court Hotel London.
