The hip-hop act are due to play at Bali's Hard Rock Cafe next month.
SEMINYAK, INDONESIA, January 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- American hip-hop stars Arrested Development will be bringing their socially conscious attitude to Bali in the new year.
The two-time Grammy Award winners, whose best-known tracks include People Everyday, Mr Wendal and Tennessee, are due to play at the island's Hard Rock Cafe in Kuta on January 16th 2011.
Founded in the late 1980s by Speech, whose mother owns a Milwaukee-based black newspaper, the act were viewed at the time as a welcome alternative to the gangster rap styling of many of their musical peers.
Throughout their career they have become well known for their humanitarian work, which saw them become the first African-American artists to donate money to Nelson Mandela and the ANC party in South Africa.
They also famously gave away half of the proceeds of Mr Wendal to the National Coalition for the Homeless.
As well as being treated to some of the group's classic tracks, people staying in Seminyak hotels who get passes for the gig can expect to hear songs from new album Strong, which hit the market in May 2010.
Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed, but doors are scheduled to open at 21:00 local time, with Arrested Development expected to take to the stage at 11:00. The show is strictly for people aged 18 and over.
