LateRooms.com - Brandon Flowers Gig Could Appeal to Dusseldorf Visitors
Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has scheduled a solo performance that could attract fans staying in Dusseldorf.
DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, September 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dusseldorf hotel guests may be planning to make the short trip to Cologne and see Brandon Flowers in concert next month.
Having launched his solo career with the single Crossfire earlier this year, the Killers frontman is set to perform at the German city's E-Werk venue on Sunday September 26th.
Flowers is one of the most prominent figures of recent years in American indie rock, having shot to fame when his Las Vegas-based group's debut album Hot Fuss emerged in 2004.
The record spawned the hit singles Somebody Told Me, Mr Brightside and All These Things That I've Done, establishing The Killers as one of the indie scene's leading lights.
Two more well-received albums followed - Sam's Town in 2006 and Day & Age in 2008 - before Flowers opted to try his hand as a solo artist.
Fans in Germany can see the fruits of this decision for the first time when the 29-year-old singer arrives in Cologne.
His debut solo album is entitled Flamingo and is due out in the UK on September 6th.
As well as Crossfire, the record is expected to feature tracks such as second single Swallow It, Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas and Playing With Fire.
Many of the songs were co-written with Daniel Lanois, the Canadian producer known for his work with Brian Eno and U2.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine earlier this year, Flowers explained his reasons for going solo.
"These songs have an isolation to them that Killers records don't have," he said.
"It's a little less keyboard and a little more acoustic, so I started thinking about other people we could bring in."
Tickets for the Cologne concert are now available online, priced at EUR31.55 (GBP25.90).
