Rising indie stars The XX are set to play live at the Tonhalle in Munich on August 27th.

MUNICH, GERMANY, July 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- One of the most critically acclaimed British bands of recent years, The XX, will be performing to fans in Munich next month.

The London three-piece, whose self-titled debut album topped the 'best of' polls in several music magazines last year, are set to play at the Tonhalle venue on August 27th.

Having won plaudits for their stripped-down sound and the vocal interplay between Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim, the band recently enjoyed success with singles such as VCR and Crystalised.

They also collaborated with Florence Welch on a version of the dance classic You Got the Love by The Source and Candi Staton.

Their appearance in Munich comes amid a host of European festival dates and precedes a short tour of venues in Canada and the US.

For fans using Munich hotels, the gig will provide a rare opportunity to hear their distinctive sound of The XX in a live scenario.

Tickets for the concert, which is due to begin at 21:00 local time, are available from EUR23.20 (GBP19.20).

Tonhalle is one of Munich's top live music venues and will also host the likes of Bad Religion, Papa Roach, Public Image Ltd and Kate Nash this summer.
