He is set to take to the stage at the Stadio Arechi on July 30th, which has a capacity of more than 37,000 and is normally used by local football side Salernitana Calcio 1919.

Ligabue, who is sometimes simply known as Liga, is a film director and writer, as well as a singer-songwriter.

The 50-year-old probably hit the height of his fame in the 1990s, during which time he released both musical and cinematic productions, with his first film Radiofreccia winning three David di Donatello accolades.

His current tour is seeing him visit a host of Italian cities, including Milan, Rome, Florence, Bari and Padova.

Fans heading to the gig will hope that it has something like the atmosphere that greeted Ligabue's comeback performance in 2005, which reportedly saw 130,000 enthusiasts in the crowd.

Tickets to see the concert cost between EUR32.20 (GBP27.10) and EUR57.50 online, depending on where people want to sit in the venue.

The performance is due to kick off at 21:00 local time but it is advisable to get there early, so you have time to find your seat and buy some refreshments before the magic begins.
