The Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome will stage a concert by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett on July 18th.
ROME, ITALY, July 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Keith Jarrett, one of the world's most celebrated contemporary pianists, is set to entertain an audience in Rome next month.
The jazz and classical musician, famed for his skills of improvisation, will perform at the Italian capital's Auditorium Parco della Musica on Sunday July 18th.
For jazz fans using Rome hotels, the concert should offer a rare opportunity to see Jarrett in action alongside drummer Jack DeJohnette and bass player Gary Peacock.
The Keith Jarrett trio are expected to play music from the numerous different stages of Jarrett's career, as well as reinterpreting a range of jazz standards.
Born in Pennsylvania, Jarrett toured as a member of Charles Lloyd's quarter in the 1960s before going on to play keyboards for Miles Davis in 1970 and release several acclaimed solo works.
As well as his achievements in the jazz world, the 65-year-old is highly respected as a performer and composer of classical music.
He was awarded the prestigious Leonie Sonning Music Prize, which has previously gone to the likes of Igor Stravinsky, Benjamin Britten and Andres Segovia, in 2004.
Tickets for Jarrett's concert in Rome, which begins at 20:00 local time, are priced between EUR45 and EUR100 (GBP36 and GBP82).
