LateRooms.com - See Leonard Cohen Live in Berlin
Legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen will play at the Waldbuhne in Berlin on August 18th.
BERLIN, GERMANY, June 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The man who famously sang "first we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin" will be performing in the German capital later this summer.
As part of the current leg of his world tour that also takes in dates in Finland, Belgium and Austria among other countries, Leonard Cohen is set to play Berlin's Waldbuhne venue on August 18th.
The iconic Canadian songwriter and poet continues to thrill audiences at the age of 75, having started touring again in 2008.
People staying in Berlin hotels for the concert can expect to hear many of Cohen's most famous songs, including Suzanne, Hallelujah, Bird on the Wire and So Long, Marianne.
Having released his first album in 1967, the Montreal-born singer has enjoyed more than four decades as one of the world's most loved lyricists and performers.
As well as his recorded output, Cohen has published numerous volumes of poetry and two novels, including the acclaimed Beautiful Losers.
Earlier this month, he revealed he is hoping to have a new album ready for release when his marathon world tour concludes next year.
"God willing it will be finished next spring," Cohen told Rolling Stone after being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York.
He said the album will be self-produced and is likely to feature ten or 11 songs, mostly written before the tour began in May 2008.
When asked what the new material will sound like, he replied: "Something good, I hope."
Cohen's Berlin show is due to get underway at 18:30 local time and tickets are available online, with prices starting at GBP58.
Commenting on the Leonard Cohen concert, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to see Leonard Cohen and who need hotels Berlin to book early to avoid disappointment."
