LateRooms.com - See Heavy Metal Legends Slayer in Berlin
Heavy metal giants Slayer will visit the Columbiahalle in Berlin next month.
BERLIN, GERMANY, June 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Music fans staying in Berlin hotels next month have a chance to see one of heavy metal music's biggest ever bands play live.
Slayer, the Californian four-piece known for their uncompromising albums and intense live performances, will be performing at the Columbiahalle on Saturday July 3rd.
Viewed as one of thrash metal's Big Four alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, the band have been active since 1981 and continue to thrill fans around the world with their music.
Slayer rose to prominence with the release of their third album Reign In Blood in 1986.
Famously described by Kerrang! magazine as "the heaviest album of all time", the record was produced by Rick Rubin and helped to establish the band as one of metal's most recognisable and popular acts.
The group went on to release eight more albums, including last year's World Painted Blood.
On the Slayer website, the band's latest effort is described as "brutal but beautiful, punishing yet precise".
However, guitarist Jeff Hanneman revealed the recording process was uncharacteristically devoid of tension this time around.
"Rather than trying to get something done, it felt like we were just having a good time," he told the website.
Fans heading to the German capital to see Slayer next month can expect to hear a collection of songs spanning their illustrious 29-year career.
Hanneman will be joined on stage by his fellow founding members Tom Araya, Kerry King and Dave Lombardo as the group tear through a back catalogue of classics such as Hell Awaits, Angel of Death, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss.
Tickets for the Berlin concert, which follows performances in Munich and Cologne this month, are available from EUR39.85 (GBP33).
Commenting on the Slayer gig, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to see Slayer and who need hotels Berlin to book early to avoid disappointment."
