Venetian Nights is a three-day rock festival held in the Bohemian village of Mala Skala.
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, June 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Music fans staying in Prague hotels this summer may decide to take a trip out to Mala Skala for the Venetian Nights festival.
This open-air event, which runs from July 30th to August 1st this year, has been showcasing the leading lights of Czech rock and pop music in the ancient region of Bohemia since 1993.
Several international acts have visited over the years, with German rock giants the Scorpions playing in 2006 and the likes of Anthrax, Alien Ant Farm and Suzi Quatro also making appearances.
The festival is known locally as Benatska noc and has developed into one of the Czech Republic's largest three-day music events.
Bands such as Fiction Plane, Stratovarius, Walda Gang, No Name and Die Happy with Marta Jandova are due to perform in Mala Skala this year as Venetian Nights celebrates its 18th birthday.
Many fans will also be looking forward to seeing legendary blues rock guitarist Gary Moore take to the stage on Friday July 30th.
The Northern Irishman, who will head to the Czech Republic following festival appearances in the UK, Romania and Italy, is known for a prolific solo career and his work with Thin Lizzy in the 1970s.
Tickets for the festival are priced at about 1,000 koruna (GBP32).
