Seville is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Frederic's Chopin's birth with a series of concerts by Ludmil Angelov.

SEVILLE, SPAIN, June 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The second centenary of Frederic Chopin's birth will be celebrated with Chopin Cycle VI at the Teatro de la Maestranza, which should leave guests at Seville hotels in awe of the legendary composer.

Bulgarian pianist Ludmil Angelov has been entrusted with the responsibility and honour of reproducing his work on the stage, in a run of concerts that finish on June 21st.

Angelov has won several prestigious awards such as the Palm Beach International and the World Piano Masters Monte Carlo.

The venue explained that almost all of the chamber music Chopin produced in his lifetime is written for the piano and his compositions caused a huge impact when they were first played, setting the musician apart as a man at the cutting edge of the genre.

Although Chopin had a French father and is of Polish nationality, his music transcended borders and was described by Robert Schumann as a "genius".

The show begins at 20:30 (local time) at the Teatro de la Maestranza and tickets cost EUR10 (GBP8.50).
