Brooklyn band Yeasayer are heading to Sydney for a show at the Metro Theatre on July 28th.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, June 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fans of US experimental rockers Yeasayer will be booking accommodation in Sydney ahead of their appearance in the city next month.
The Brooklyn-based band, who released their second studio album Odd Blood in February this year, are set to play at the Metro Theatre on Wednesday July 28th.
Yeasayer will complete a short tour of Australia this summer before heading back to Europe for several festival dates, including Reading and Leeds in the UK.
Tickets for their Sydney show, which gets underway at 20:00 local time, are priced at AU$50.10.
The band formed in 2006 and their debut album All Hour Cymbals emerged the following year, with the Pitchfork website praising its songs as a "unique form of indie rock world music".
Odd Blood, which sees band members Chris Keating and Anand Wilder share songwriting duties, has spawned the well-received singles Ambling Alp and ONE.
Reviewing the album for Clash magazine, Amanda Farah described it as "an unabashed pop record that anyone should be proud to play at full volume".
Situated on George Street, the Metro Theatre is one of Sydney's most popular venues for live music.
Other acts playing there this summer include Mark Lanegan, the Magic Numbers, Midlake and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
