LateRooms.com - Deftones to Play in Turin
Turin will welcome the Deftones this summer, who are currently touring their Diamond Eyes album.
TURIN, ITALY, May 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Legendary metal band Deftones are set to take to the stage at the Parco Certosa Reale in Turin on June 22nd, in what will be the group's only Italian date of their current tour.
The rockers recently released their latest album Diamond Eyes and are currently touring their native US with the record, before heading to Europe and Turin hotels.
It is their sixth studio full-length and sees the band pushing their own brand of ambient metal after a three-and-a-half-year break.
Writing for 411mania, Chris Cowing pointed out that the sixth record by the Deftones was meant to be an LP named Eros, but bass player Chi Cheng was left in a coma in November 2008 and it was decided that a new album was required to show where the band were emotionally after this tragic car accident.
With Sergio Vega picking standing in for Cheng, the group created Diamond Eyes, which Mr Cowing describes as a "fantastic album".
"The Deftones have always been the band to emerge from the nu-metal period with the most credit, never afraid to challenge perceptions of what a 'metal' band should be and proudly showing their rap, new wave, pop and progressive influences."
Tickets for the event will cost EUR36.80 (GBP32) and can be bought online, with the show kicking off at 20:00 (local time) on the night.
For more information on this event visit the Deftones website or contact the venue on +39 055 55 20 575.
Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for Deftones tickets is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotel Torino as early as possible."
