Alternative music is set to reign for an evening in Turin this summer, when Alice in Chains visit the Italian city.

TURIN, ITALY, May 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seattle grunge legends Alice in Chains are set to play in Turin this summer, a gig that could provide the perfect opportunity for guests at Turin hotels to dust off their ripped jeans and enjoy an evening of quality alternative music.

The band is set to play Colonia Sonora on Wednesday June 9th, with founding member Jerry Cantrell still rocking away alongside William DuVall, who joined the band in 2005 after the death of original vocalist Layne Staley.

Fans in the crowd may be pleased to hear that if they are enthusiastic enough they may be treated to an extended set, with the band revealing on their blog that this was the case at a recent gig in St Augustine, Florida.

Attendees can expect to hear songs from the group's back catalogue of hits, which stretches over more than 25 years and includes hit albums such as their eponymous Alice in Chains record and Jar of Flies.

This week, the band confirmed on their official website that they are set to headline Blackdiamondskye in autumn, with Mastodon and the Deftones providing support.

Entrance to the show costs EUR34.50 (GBP29.80), with tickets available online.
