Music fans will be heading to the Thai capital next month for the programme of events dedicated to the guitar.

BANGKOK, THAILAND, May 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who loves getting their guitar out and strumming a few bars should try and book Bangkok hotels during June.

Between June 17th and 20th, the Asia International Guitar Fair will arrive in the city, giving musicians from all over the world the chance to take part in master classes and witness concerts all relating to the humble guitar.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the festival, with guitarists such as Jorge Luis Zamora and Roman Viazovskiy among the musicians who will give a lesson in the art of guitar playing.

Concerts showcasing the various artists involved in the event will also be held each evening, which could be the perfect way for anyone staying in Sukhumvit hotels to pass a few hours.

Tickets for the evening performances cost 600 Thai baht (GBP12.25), while a spot in one of the master classes is 200 Thai baht.

Anyone attending the concert on the opening night will find that it has a distinctly Mexican theme, while other shows later in the programme will see Thai, Japanese and European guitarists step into the spotlight.

The closing night will see Cuban guitarist Jorge Luis Zamora entertain an audience with his own interpretations of Latin American music that have won him numerous accolades.

A series of competitions will also be taking place throughout the duration of the festival, giving budding guitarists a chance to impress.
