While Platero u Tu become essential listening for young Spanish rock fans in the 1990s, with their lyrics speaking of going out to wild parties, Fito began to feel like some of his self-penned tunes would work better away from the iconic group, so he formed Fito & Fitipaldis in 1998.

It initially started out as a side project, but three years later it became full time and the cult singer-songwriter has been touring and releasing songs with his new colleagues ever since.

To give people some idea what the man sounds like, it is worth noting that his favourite artists range from AC/DC and ZZ Top to John Mayer, JJ Cale and Jerry Lee Lewis, so people can expect a raucous yet soulful experience at his gigs.
