Industry Leader Jean M. Ferris Added to the Cambridge Who's Who Network
Jean M. Ferris' expertise is in music history and music appreciation
SCOTTSDALE, AZ, October 2, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jean M. Ferris, Emeritus Professor of Music for Arizona State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
Ms. Ferris has 20 years of professional experience at Arizona State University. As a professor of music, she taught music history and music appreciation, counseled students, and coordinated the recruitment of high school students into the music program. She has written two textbooks, titled 'America's Music Landscape,' which is now in it's sixth edition, and 'The Art of Listening,' which is now in it's eighth edition. These textbooks have been published by McGraw-Hill Higher Education. Ms. Ferris retired in 1997.
Ms. Ferris received her Master of Arts in Music from Arizona State University. In 1957, she received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. She is a member of The College Music Society, The Sonneck Society and Mu Phi Epsilon.
