Dorothy K. Jonas Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Cambridge Who's Who recognizes Dorothy K. Jonas for excellence in music education
WHITE PLAINS, NY, June 9, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dorothy K. Jonas, Professor of Music at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of musical performance.
With 46 years of experience as a professional musical performer, Ms. Jonas has been playing the piano since the age of five. She travels and plays with Joshua Pierce as the Pierce/Jonas Dynamic Duo. This spring, they will be releasing their thirteenth album. The duo has appeared with many symphony orchestras worldwide including those of Houston, San Antonio, Mexico City and Luxembourg as well as the Royal Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic and the National Symphony of Polish Radio and Television. In a review by Paul Somers of Classical New Jersey, they "play the Mozart Double Concerto with a sense of gallant elegance the piece demands."
The recipient of many first-place awards from national competitions, Ms. Jonas also provides private lessons for students ages five to 75. She attributes her success to being highly competitive, her motivation and desire to be successful. Ms. Jonas received her Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School in 1946 and is a member of Julliard Alumni, Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity and the Recording Academy of Music.
