Upcoming songwriters showcase for EMI
Winners in the Song of the Year songwriting contest showcase for EMI Publishing.

NEW YORK, NY, October 31, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Upcoming songwriters will have a chance to preform their material in front of EMI publishing on November 21st. EMI hopes to find some new talent to add to their portfolio. The showcase will include many of the songwriters who received "winner" and "finalist" status in the Song of the Year songwriting contest.

Song of the Year (www.songoftheyear.com) distributes the top songs in their songwriting contest to EMI publishing in an effort to help songwriters network with publishing companies and record labels. Organizations such as EMI then review the songs and contact the songwriters who strike a chord with the A&R representatives. Twenty-one of the twenty-six songwriters showcasing at the event were brought to EMI's attention through Song of the Year.
